Last Monday night there was an interesting programme on late on BBC1. The blurb from the website says that Pullman was named one of Britain’s greatest writers as well as – strangely for someone who is described as a childrens writer – one of the most dangerous writers in Britain.

Following on from my tweet above from Monday night, Philip Pullman is best-known for the His Dark Materials trilogy. These books, “Northern Lights”, followed by “The Subtle Knife”, and culminating with “The Amber Spyglass” are up there amongst my most favourite books.
